Safety & Medical

Is ibogaine safe?

Ibogaine carries real cardiac risks that require full medical screening before treatment. When administered in a properly supervised setting with screening, monitoring, and a qualified medical team, the risk is significantly reduced. We do not treat candidates who have not passed cardiac clearance. No treatment is without risk — our commitment is to minimize it through rigorous protocol.

Who cannot receive ibogaine treatment?

Ibogaine is contraindicated for people with heart conditions (particularly QT prolongation or arrhythmias), significant liver disease, active psychosis or schizophrenia, and those on medications that interact with ibogaine — including SSRIs, lithium, stimulants, and many others. A full medication and health review is conducted during screening to identify any contraindications.

What monitoring happens during treatment?

A qualified physician and nursing staff are present throughout the active treatment session. Continuous cardiac monitoring (pulse oximetry and ECG) is maintained for the duration of the session. Emergency equipment is on site. You will never be left alone.

The Process

What does the treatment experience feel like?

The experience is highly individual. Most people describe a prolonged, waking dream state lasting 24-36 hours — often involving visual imagery, a review of life memories, and deep emotional processing. It is rarely comfortable in the conventional sense, but most participants report it as profoundly meaningful. Staff are present to provide reassurance and support throughout.

How long does the full program take?

The standard detox program is 3-5 days, including arrival, medical screening, the treatment session itself, and a recovery period before departure. The trauma and PTSD protocol is 5-7 days to allow for more preparation and processing time. Integration support continues after you leave, typically over 3-12 months.

Do I need to stop my medications before treatment?

Many medications require a taper period before ibogaine can be safely administered. SSRIs, SNRIs, and benzodiazepines in particular need to be gradually reduced under medical supervision — which can take 4-8 weeks. We will review your medications during the initial consultation and provide a specific plan. Do not stop any prescription medication without medical guidance.

Logistics & Cost

What does treatment cost?

Treatment cost varies based on the protocol, duration, and level of support required. We provide a detailed quote following the initial consultation and screening. We believe cost should not be the deciding factor and will work with you to explore payment options where possible.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothing for multiple days, personal toiletries, any required prescription medications (in original packaging), and anything that provides comfort — music, a journal, familiar photographs. We provide meals, bedding, and all treatment materials. A detailed packing list is sent upon booking confirmation.
